Transportation Operations is responsible for coordinating the overall daily support for all transportation terminals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate with principal and/or designee the performance of Emergency Evacuations on school buses.
  • Monitor the scheduling of all out of county travel to include destination, identification checks of vendor bus operators, bus replacement, and bus cancellations.
  • Monitor statistical data regarding bus accident and/or student incident information.
  • Monitor statistical information regarding annual “Bus Loading Zone Inspections”
  • Coordinate and conduct monthly “Accident Review Committee Meetings”
  • Provide support to the district in conjunction as a whole at various community events, special programs, and conferences in and out of county.
  • Assist Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, with the monitoring of inspection documentation regarding outside vendors (commercial charter buses) for the safe transportation of the district students.
  • Interpret laws as it relates to commercial carrier transportation received for DOE, DOT, and FMCSA such as state statues 360.1, 365.109. 374.315, 374.317, 383.7, and 396.3-396.25, and applying it to the department.
  • Monitor the assignment and location of board owned vehicles within the department.
  • Manage fleet of ten HDX-Transit school buses and operators for emergency out of county travel.
  • Monitor procedures and policies regarding extra-curricular trips both in and out of county.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with Accident/Incident and Extra-Curricular trip support staff.

  • Designee for Site Review Meetings
